Day 44/ The daily project.

The beginning of this year started with the daunting task of producing something...anything, from Cinema4D every single day. I have to admit I was extremely anxious to try it out after seeing others do it for their own work. It's a very inspiring timeline to see upon completion, but I was curious if I would be up to the task. It is currently February 12, 2014 on part two of Atlanta's snowpocalypse, and I am sitting here working on my daily for today.

There are two benefits from this process. The first I'd hoped for; the second was absolutely unconsidered. Using Instagram as my main outlet to broadcast my work to both Twitter and Facebook, I've begun using more and more hashtags to try and link my work with other aspiring artists like myself. By using similar hashtags on a regular basis, I have developed a small following of people that have decided they'd like to be a part of my journey by leaving comments and likes. My hope is that through these connections, collaborative work could be obtained as well as the potential for future full time work. The second benefit is more personal. I typically have a very hard time staying grounded in the present. Either I'm contemplating in my mind a rework of a situation from my past, or considering the potential pathways to be discovered in the future. It's usually a "put my mind to it" type mentality if I want to focus solely on the present. This project has made it more possible for that mindset to become my norm.

At the beginning of the project, I sat down and made a list of all the things I wanted to create for this project...and I have to admit, I came up with about a month's worth of ideas. Day one..I felt pretty confident because I knew I had 30 more ideas to plow through before I'd need to revisit the list. But today...on day 44, even though I still have the list and occasionally add to it as a way to remind myself of a moment of inspiration throughout my day, I find that I am content on focusing on and coming up with my daily each day. Not yesterday...but today. I'm trying to give myself a general link for each month that each daily can aspire to. January was more or less a hodge podge of ideas that have culminated from knowing various techniques in the software. February has been just going through the alphabet for each day and seeing what event from that day can inspire that day's letter.

It's been a fun process so far...and one that I hope to continue well beyond the year long goal I set for myself originally. Only time will tell of course. The best part about all of it is...I'm not concerned with what's going to happen on day 365, because I'm too content on focusing on day 44.

Ready for a new year...

This website is a new endeavor. I hope that it will serve as a place where my creativity can roam free. Hopefully viewers will come to just have fun and gander in the mindspace of someone else for a few minutes. I'm sure this blog won't be updated regularly as I don't fancy myself a writer...but I'm sure when the need for a post occurs, this too will find itself a fun avenue for expression.
